History

Smooth Contract Limited was formed in 2009 to help fellow contractors get to grips with the day to day management of a limited company. The founders, Andrew Retmanski and Shaun McLernon had both experienced first hand the extensive administrative overhead contractors suffer.

From raising invoices to chasing payments, sorting out VAT and Payroll to the numerous quarterly and annual returns required by HMRC and Companies House, the whole process felt like hard work.

So, they started work on smoothcontract to streamline the most painful aspects of running their company. A limited company remains the most profitable and tax efficient structure for a small contractor business and with the help of smoothcontract becomes easy to manage too.
